PLAZIFLEX Foam Backed 1.0mm Flexiback Black Plastering Skimming Trowels
REFINA PLAZIFLEX® trowels are designed to give plasterers a smooth, effortless finishing experience. The 1.0mm flexible plastic blade, backed by the FLEXIBACK® foam layer, creates a soft, supportive feel that helps you achieve an ultra-flat, polished finish on walls and ceilings.
Because the blade is lightweight and non-marking, you can work earlier with plaster, smooth out trowel lines more easily, and finish sets faster with less pressure on your elbows and shoulders.

Precision Meets Flexibility
Structured yet adaptable: At 1.0mm, the PLAZIFLEX blade strikes the perfect balance between rigidity and flexibility, strong enough for early plastering layers, yet responsive enough to follow curves and subtle surface variations.
FLEXIBACK® support system: The innovative foam backing reinforces the blade along its length while allowing controlled flex across its width. This reduces drag on the plaster, helping you work faster and achieve a smoother finish.
Engineered for Comfort and Efficiency
Lightweight design: Premium materials keep the trowel easy to handle, reducing strain on arms, elbows, and shoulders during extended use.
Interchangeable blades: The slot-in system securely accommodates the REFINA premium midget trowel, allowing you to quickly swap blade types or thicknesses with no extra tools required.
Ergonomic handle & edge protection: A soft-touch grip ensures comfort and control, while reinforced edges safeguard the blade during storage or transport.

Why Choose PLAZIFLEX 1.0mm?
The REFINA PLAZIFLEX 1.0mm skimming trowel delivers a fully flexible feel, enabling plasterers to achieve perfectly smooth, flat walls during the final stages of plastering.
For different stages and applications, REFINA also offers:
- 1.5mm PLAZIFLEX® trowels: Slightly firmer than the 1.0mm version, these trowels provide more structure while maintaining flexibility. They are ideal for early finishing stages, allowing precise smoothing without sacrificing control.
- 2.0mm PLAZIFLEX® trowels: Offering a firmer, flexible experience, these trowels can be used earlier in the plastering process to flatten, smooth, and finish with a single tool. Their high-quality, non-marking blades also make them suitable for floating and finishing thin coat renders, making them a versatile addition to any plasterer’s toolkit.
Care & Maintenance
To deliver optimal performance, the PLAZIFLEX range is manufactured from specialised flexible plastics. While highly durable, these materials benefit from careful handling to extend their lifespan. If an edge becomes damaged during use, it can often be restored by gently rubbing it with a wet-and-dry sandpaper block.
The midget trowel shoe fittings are designed for a snug fit, providing excellent tactile feedback during use. To prevent difficulty when inserting the handle, it’s recommended that the handle be removed and the shoe fitting be cleaned after each use. Applying a water- or silicone-based lubricant can also help ease the handling of the fitting.
When not in use, always keep the supplied edge protectors fitted to the trowel. Avoid storing the tool in high-temperature environments such as near radiators, on window sills, or on car dashboards, as heat can cause warping. Moderate warping can often be corrected by flexing the trowel along its length (toe to heel) in both directions.
